Install Portage

Download the latest release directly from GitHub.

Chrome

Download Portage (.crx)
Signed by Chrome. Installs permanently — no developer mode needed.
  • Navigate to chrome://extensions in your URL bar.
  • Enable Developer mode in the top right corner.
  • Drag and drop the downloaded .crx file onto the page.
  • Click Add extension to confirm.
Developer install (unpacked source)
  • Download the unpacked .zip using the button below.
  • Unzip it somewhere you'll remember.
  • Navigate to chrome://extensions and enable Developer mode.
  • Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder.

Firefox

Download Portage (.xpi)
Signed by Mozilla. Installs permanently — no developer mode needed.
  • Click Install Portage (.xpi) above.
  • Firefox will prompt — click Continue to Installation.
  • Click Add to confirm.
Developer install (unsigned source)
  • Download the unsigned .zip using the button below.
  • Unzip it somewhere you'll remember.
  • Navigate to about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox.
  • Click Load Temporary Add-on... and select manifest.json from the unzipped folder.

Temporary add-ons are removed when Firefox restarts.
